A limit is the value that a function or sequence "approaches" as the input or index approaches some value. You can tell if a limit exists if both the limits from the right and left are approaching the same value. Limits help to explain function behavior at points of discontinuity because it shows the behavior of the limit as it approaches the value that show where the discontinuity is shown.
If you know the factors here is how you get the zeros. You take the factor and set it to zero and solve for x, for example (x+2)=0 add the two to the other side. Now you have x=-2 and that is your zero. this is how factors and zeros are connected. When using division to find the factor of the first step is is to graph the polynomial and find the easy zeros. Next you take the easy zeros and synthetic divide those zeros out so you can plug the function into the quadratic formula and you got all the zeros!
