I think that all of Toms plans and ideas are so dumb and pointless, I'm not going to lie while I was reading this I kind of got a little bit annoyed with how complicated Tom wanted to make things. Little details Tom was just so worried about, he did not even care about getting Jim out all he wanted to do was make it like one of the books hes read. For example, Tom wanted to get rats, snakes, and spiders to put in Jim's room so that he could have a pet, strangest thing in the whole book to me. Poor Jim did not like the idea for it at all but he knew that Tom would get mad him Jim didn't do it, so just like every other crazy thing Jim did it.
At first I could not figure out the reason behind why Tom wrote the letters and put the pictures up warning the family. However, as I kept reading I now think that Tom wanted to get caught stealing Jim and that's why he gave the family a warning. I'm not surprised one bit that Tom wanted to get caught, but poor Huck just wanted to get away and if it would of just been Huck. I think he would of gotten away with Jim with no problem and a lot faster too. Huck needs to rethink who he looks up to in life because Tom is not someone you should want to be like, the kid is crazy. You could tell that Huck was kind of starting to change the way he thought about Tom's thinking and planning when he went to go get the doctor. Tom told Huck to like kidnap the doctor, but Huck knew better and just asked the doctor to come help. Huck seems to do this a lot in this section just going along with Tom even though he doesn't agree with the plan.
The Night that they did steal Jim out of the cabin and ran off and Tom got shot I knew that they weren't going to get away down the river. When the doctor brought Tom and Jim back to the House where Huck was I could not figure out they were going to get themselves out of this new mess. But of course the book took a turn that I didn't see coming, Tom woke up and ran his mouth about the whole plan and told Aunt Sally everything and i was shocked. However, after Tom goes on about how he already knew Jim was a free man and the whole crazy plan made sense to me. I mean i can see why Tom wasn't in such a rush to get Jim out because he knew Miss. Watson was not going to come pick him up because she had passed away and that she gave Jim his freedom when she passed. The whole dang time Tom was just having fun with the whole thing but for some reason didn't bother to tell Huck and or Jim about it.
In the end I was happy when Tom's mother came and set everything straight with Tom not being Sid and Huck not being Tom. I was surprise to find that Aunt Sally wasn't really that mad about it at all and I thought it was funny to find out in the end that Aunt Sally ended up adopting Huck to try to make him civilized again. Everything turned out pretty good for everyone involved, even Jim who was a slave and ended up being free all because of the help of Huck and Tom.
